9K a year ASSISTANT DIRECTOR Valentine Public Library is seeking a dynamic and collaborative Assistant Director to join our team.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual who is passionate about reading and has an interest in working with patrons of all ages and backgrounds.
The position of Assistant Director is full-time, and the Assistant Director reports directly to the Library Director.
The Assistant Director is responsible for assisting in the direction of the Valentine Public Library through all aspects of professional library work to ensure the efficient provision of services to the community and is guided by the Director and the Board of Trustees.
Qualifications:
Previous customer service experience is preferred but not required.
Must be comfortable working with technology (computers, office equiptment, and cell phones).
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
Excellent communication skills, oral and written.
Strong organizational and problem solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to maintain reliable schedule and regular attendance.
This position does not require a college degree; however, an associate's degree is helpful.
Applicant must be willing to complete the Public Library Certification Program through the Nebraska Library Commission.

Handles business of the library in the absence of the Director.
Assists the Director in the development of all collection management policies and procedures.
